2. What data we collect
- App content: the entries you write, corrected versions, and AI-generated vocabulary/expression suggestions
- Basic onboarding info: your chosen language, level, and preferred grammatical gender (for languages where gender affects correctness)
- Account information: email address (for Sign in with Apple or email authentication)
- Technical data: device type, timestamps
We collect your preferred grammatical gender solely to provide accurate corrections in gendered languages. This data is never shared and never used for profiling.
Your entries remain private. They are stored securely and encrypted in transit and at rest.
Your entries are used only to generate corrections and suggestions inside the app. We do
not sell your entries, use them for advertising, or make them publicly visible. Moti does not collect advertising data or track users across apps.
OpenAI processes your diary entries transiently to generate corrections and feedback. Anthropic
(Claude AI) processes entries transiently to generate vocabulary and
expression suggestions. Both
services do
not store your text or use it to train models.
3. How we use your data (legal basis)
Under GDPR Art. 6:
-
To provide the service: generating corrections, insights and suggestions
-
With your consent: when joining the waitlist or beta
-
For legitimate interest: improving stability, detecting errors, analysing aggregate usage
We do not sell your data or use it for ads.
4. Data storage
We use third-party processors:

- Anthropic (Claude AI) for vocabulary and expression suggestions (text processed transiently, not stored or used for training)

not use cookies and does not collect personal data. All analytics are aggregated and anonymous.
All processors implement GDPR-compliant safeguards
5. Data retention
We keep your data:
- As long as your account exists
- Until you request deletion
- Or as required to provide the service
Deleting your account permanently deletes:
- All diary entries
- Corrected versions
- Vocabulary and expression suggestions
- Account information
6. AI ProcessingMoti uses AI services (OpenAI and Anthropic) to analyse your diary entries and provide:
- Grammar corrections and rewritten entries
- Vocabulary suggestions
- Natural expression recommendations
How AI processing works:
- Your text is sent to AI providers only when you request feedback (by tapping "Check")
- Text is processed in real-time and not stored by AI providers
- AI providers do not use your data to train or improve their models
- Processed text is deleted immediately after generating results
- Only the final corrections and suggestions are saved in your Moti account
Both OpenAI and Anthropic are GDPR-compliant and do not share data with third parties.
