Last updated:

We respect your privacy and collect only what’s necessary to run Moti. This policy explains how we handle data under GDPR.
1. Controller (Verantwortliche Stelle)
Moti
Based in Germany
Contact:
contact@getmoti.app
2. What data we collect
When you use Moti, we may collect:
-
App content: the diary entries you write
-
Basic onboarding info: your chosen language, level, and preferred grammatical gender (for languages where gender affects correctness)
-
Anonymous identifiers: a unique user ID generated by the app
-
Technical data: device type, timestamps
-
Optional: email address if you join the beta waitlist
We collect your preferred grammatical gender solely to provide accurate corrections in gendered languages. This data is never shared and never used for profiling.
Your diary entries remain private. They are stored securely with an anonymous ID — not your name or email — so we cannot identify who wrote what.
They are used only to generate corrections and suggestions inside the app. We do
not sell your entries, use them for advertising, or make them publicly visible. Moti does not collect advertising data or track users across apps.
OpenAI processes text transiently to generate feedback, but does
not store it or use it to train models.
3. How we use your data (legal basis)
Under GDPR Art. 6:
-
To provide the service: generating corrections, insights and suggestions
-
With your consent: when joining the waitlist or beta
-
For legitimate interest: improving stability, detecting errors, analysing aggregate usage
We do not sell your data or use it for ads.
4. Data storage
We use third-party processors:
-
Supabase (EU region) for storing entries and account data
-
OpenAI for generating corrections (your text is processed transiently and not used to train models)
-
Webflow for the website
-
Plausible Analytics for website analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to understand general traffic patterns (e.g., page views, referrers, device types). Plausible does
not use cookies and does not collect personal data. All analytics are aggregated and anonymous.
All processors implement GDPR-compliant safeguards
.
5. Data retention
We keep your data:
- as long as your account exists until you request deletion
- or as long as required to provide the service
Deleting your account deletes all diary entries and stored data.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR, you can:
- Access your data
- Request correction
- Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
- Request a copy of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise these rights, email
contact@getmoti.app with your
in-app ID (visible by double tapping the date in the app).
7. Cookies
This website uses
no tracking or advertising cookies.
Only essential cookies required for basic functionality may be used.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The latest version will always be available on our website.
